Open Water Diver course in Dahab

First, we need to answer a few medical questions and all being well (and assuming you can complete a basic swim test) you can get started!

Theory & Skills

During the course you will complete five academic modules to give you a good grounding in dive theory, equipment and safety. These theory sessions can also be completed before arrival via PADI eLearning (contact us for details)

On the PADI Open Water course you will complete five skill training sessions in shallow water (called ‘Confined Water’) It’s best to avoid problems, but underwater is not our natural environment, so it’s essential to learn the skills to be able deal with any problems that could arise. These sessions will give you the ability and confidence to do so. A well trained diver is a safe diver!

You will also complete a test swim and some skin-diving skills

Open Water Dives

Once we have established your basic safety skills, the fun steps up a gear with the four open water dives!

The first two dives will be down to a maximum of 12 meters. Now, you will really start to appreciate the challenges of moving in 3 dimensions and why proper buoyancy control is so important for your safety and that of the marine life around you.

Open water dives three and four will take you down to a maximum 18 meters around our stunning local dive sites and, if conditions permit, we may venture further afield and visit some of Dahab’s other great dive sites.

Once you become a certified PADI Open Water Diver you will be able to visit dive destinations around the world in the safe knowledge that you have had the best ‘Sea Dancer’ training!
