Sites de plongée

Vibrant corals, myriads of fish, dramatic walls, impressive canyons, easy training sites and exotic critters hidden in sea-grass and sand. Diving in Dahab has something to suit all tastes!

Diving in Dahab

Dahab is, quite simply, a diving theme park.  We have something to offer divers of all skill levels and experience. Whether you are just starting out, wanting to expand your skills, or a seasoned diver with years of experience, Diving in Dahab has something for you.

Dahab has an incredible variety of dives, with diverse topography and marine life over a relatively small area. Diving in Bannerfish Bay can be likened to taking a stroll through a meadow with bushes (coral) grass (the sea variety) and animals all around you. Diving at The Islands is more like a trek through a forest of giant trees (corals!) while The Canyon is like, well, ‘canyoning!’ and, dropping down The Bells is more like abseiling! Basically, we have something for everyone!

Diving around Dahab can be split into three distinct varieties:

Local Dive Sites

LOCAL DIVES

Firstly, are the local shore dives which we do can do at any time, at short notice, and which are reached by foot with the gear carried on a trolly (Lighthouse, Bannerfish Bay, Mashraba) These dive sites are all very different and perfect for most training courses, from Open water to Deep Specialty and are also fantastic for night dives. You will be amazed at the variety things to see right on our doorstep!

Pick Up truck to drive to dive sites

DRIVE TO DIVES

Second are the sites that we drive to. These extend from The Bells in the north to The Caves in the south. Some of these are close by (Islands, Eel Garden) and we jump in a double-cabin pick-up and head off for single dives, others are further afield (30-40 min drive to the north or south) and we would normally do 2 dives when we go this far. These sites can also be done any day of the week.

Boat or Camel Trips for snorkelers

Safaris de plongée à Dahab

Thirdly are the sites beyond ‘the end of the road’ which we can only reach by dive safari. Gabr-el-Bint is reached by luxury day boat while Ras Abu Galum can be reached by speed-boat and, more traditionally, one of Dahab’s unique camel dive safaris.

Most dive sites can be accessed on all conditions, but some can be difficult at low tide and/or strong winds. We always plan our dive days to optimise the best conditions and choose the best site for our divers’ experience and ability.

Other parts of the Red Sea

Bring out your inner Jacques Cousteau and get ready to explore amazing coral cliffs and beautiful wrecks.

For the more adventurous, join our regular trip to the Straits of Tiran, the World War II wreck, SS Thistlegorm, and world-famous Ras Mohammed reefs.

Alternatively, for groups, we can tailor-make a live-aboard trip and explore the superb diving in other parts of the Red Sea.
